Covertex tow tanks are used as on-water storage and transport for contaminants, fuel and water. They’re highly robust and are supplied ready for immediate use. Empty or full, our tanks are stable under tow. After use,tanks can be decontaminated for redeployment. User-friendly detailing makes our tanks easy to fill, empty and secure.


 

Oil Spill

Ideal for oil spill response or ocean-going fuel storage, Covertex tow tank units can be towed behind vessels, moored at sea and stored on any stable platform. They can be towed by almost any craft at speeds up to 15 knots empty, 7 knots full. The tank’s shallow draft enables access into tidal or shoaled areas. Smaller tanks can be lifted for rapid discharge or land transportation via truck or train. Available in a range of capacities, from 5m3 to 100m3, tow tanks can be decontaminated following use.


 

Water

Covertex tow tank units can be manufactured with food-grade PVC to allow on-water storage and transportation of drinking water. They can be towed behind vessels, moored at sea and stored on any stable platform. The tank’s shallow draft enables access into tidal or shoaled areas. Smaller tow tanks can be lifted for rapid discharge or land transportation via truck or train. Available in a range of capacities, from 5m3 to 100m3, tow tanks can be easily cleaned following use.


 

Accessories

Towing line – heavy duty braided polypropylene
Anti-chafe mat – oil resistant ground sheet for ground protection
Cargo net – enables tank to be hoisted and positioned with ease
Inflators – 12V, 110V and 240 Volt inflators and petrol driven air blowers
Light mast – battery-operated white light for working at night
Decanting hose – allows water build up at the bottom of the tank to be drawn off
Fill/discharge hose and fittings – complete range with couplings
